Our History

Queen City Dolphins (QCD) is a minority swim team that was established in January 2005 by Rodney Sellars and Marcus Green. At the inception, the team had only 12 swimmers. The team has since increased membership to over 40 swimmers.

Queen City Dolphins is a year-round swim team located in Charlotte, North Carolina and practices at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (MCAC).

QCD is more than just a swim team. It is a family where parental involvement is essential to the growth and well-being of the team.

"I wanted kids to have options other than basketball and football programs. Swimming gave me a college opportunity, and I hope it will do the same for others."
